24-Hour Nurse Line

If you have questions about your health, it’s always best to talk to your primary care provider. However, if you can’t, PrimeWest Health provides access to a 24-hour nurse line. When you call, you can talk to a registered nurse to get help deciding what to do about an illness or injury. It is secure, completely anonymous, and provided at no cost to you.

The phone number for the nurse line is on the back of your member ID card. The call is free.

When to call the nurse line

You can call the nurse line 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, every day of the year. These services can help you decide on the right kind of care for symptoms and conditions such as:

  • Fever
  • Coughs
  • Sore throat
  • Vomiting and diarrhea
  • Minor injuries

The nurse line can also help you decide where to get care. Is it something you can take care of at home? Do you need to make an appointment with your health care provider? Or should you go to an emergency room? In an emergency that needs treatment right away, either call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

When not to call the nurse line

If you need help finding a provider, want to know if a procedure is covered, or have eligibility questions, please DO NOT call the nurse line. The nurse line offers general health information and does not have information specific to PrimeWest Health members. You can call PrimeWest Health Member Services at 1-866-431-0801 to get answers to these kinds of questions. TTY users call 1-800-627-3529 or 711. These calls are free.
