Child and Teen Checkups (C&TCs)
Child and Teen Checkups (C&TCs) are health exams that begin at birth and continue through age 21. These checkups are a key part of keeping kids healthy. Your child’s provider can monitor growth and development, find and address problems early, provide preventive care, and help your child develop healthy habits to last a lifetime.
At a C&TC, the provider will do the following:
- Conduct a complete physical exam
- Gather information about physical and mental health and developmental history
- Provide education
- Make sure vaccinations are up to date
Starting at age 11, a C&TC may include patient and provider one-on-one time. This gives teens the chance to learn how to take charge of their health and talk about health issues.
You can learn more about C&TCs by visiting freechildcheckups.com. You can call your child’s primary care clinic to schedule a C&TC. If you need help finding a clinic, you can call PrimeWest Health Member Services at 1-866-431-0801. TTY users call 1-800-627-3529 or 711. These calls are free.
